How do you charge so little for a service call? Tech By Request membership model is the key. This allows you to experience highly trained, certified technicians at a fraction of the hourly rate.
How long is a service call? A service call is for up to 60 minutes.
Are there any trip charges? No, the service call charge is all inclusive.
What happens if the service call takes longer? When a service extends beyond 60 minutes, a second service call is added.
Do you have expedite fees? We offer same day or next day service; however, when all Technicians are in the field, we charge twice the service call rate. This only occurs when a Technician is pulled from a scheduled call and re-routed to your location. The customer we inconvenience receives a free service call paid for with the expedite fee.
What is Secure Remote access? We refer to this as a Virtual Request. Access to your computer from the Tech By Request office is provided on a case by case basis. The Technician resolves issues just as if they were sitting in front of your computer. The charge for secure remote access is half a service call for 30 minutes.
What is the difference between a membership and a warranty? A warranty provides specific repairs for specific devices. A Tech By Request membership covers devices and the technical support to make them all function properly. Tech By Request members also receive network support and technology upgrades.
How many devices are covered and what constitutes a device? Each membership covers a different number of devices. Residential covers up to 8 and commercial/corporate up to 30 devices. Devices can be desktop computers, laptops, tablets, smart phones, printers, scanners, routers and servers.
What all is included in a service call? All Tech By Request service offerings for up to 60 minutes. If you need software loaded or your email configured, just let us know. Most customers put together a list of needs when their Technician is scheduled.
What do you charge for parts? Most of the time parts are dramatically below retail price. We purchase from wholesale and pass the savings on to our members.
Can I get computers from you? We offer both OEM and custom built computers with up to a 3 year warranty.
What are technology upgrades? Technology upgrades occur when your devices are end of life and no longer meet your needs. Tech By Request will help you design technology solutions for home automation, communication, security and/or entertainment. Tech By Request will check your equipment and understand your technology needs to give you options for technology upgrades.

How do I cancel a service call? You may cancel a service call with a minimum of 4 hours notice straight from our website or by calling our office at 888-666-2704.
When should I replace my computer? Every user is different; however the typical life of a computer is 3-4 years.
Do you offer technology consulting as a service call? We recommend that you call us once a quarter for general maintenance, system checks and discuss what technology you would like to improve your quality of life and/or improve your professional effectiveness.
